About the role
The Mater Clinical Education Team is currently seeking an Education Coordinator for a part time, 32 hours per week, temporary max-term contract to cover leave based at the Mater Private Hospital Springfield. This 9-week contract will begin on 14th April 2025 and conclude on 13th June 2025.
As the Education Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating education activities and resources to address the learning needs of Mater staff and the community. Reporting to the A/Director Clinical Education, your role will contribute to achieving educational and clinical excellence at Mater Private Hospital Springfield. You will be accountable for delivering education and practice development outcomes, as well as implementing a High Value Healthcare approach.
Salary range: $66.85 - $72.58 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Your contributions will support the delivery of high-quality education and drive improvements in patient care practices. The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Designing and evaluating evidence-based resources and learning opportunities to meet the needs of Mater and the community
- Benchmarking education and specialty practices against national and international standards
- Collaborating with stakeholders to develop tailored learning plans for staff requiring additional support
- Engaging in educational research and quality improvement initiatives
- Supporting professional development and performance management processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and competency standards
- Incorporating simulation methodology to enhance skills, knowledge, and teamwork in an interprofessional environment
- Seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement in education and patient care practices
- Collaborating with Nurse Unit Managers and Clinical Facilitators to ensure staff compliance with mandatory education requirements
About you
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse is mandatory
- Postgraduate qualification in teaching or education equivalent, highly desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty area or working towards one
- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, highly desirable
- Knowledge and experience delivering education and training in Australian healthcare organisations
- Innovative approach to achieving education outcomes in healthcare delivery
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite, electronic information systems/platforms, and educational theory to develop resources and reporting functions
- Strong time management, organisational skills and interpersonal skills
- In-depth understanding of contemporary adult education and clinical issues
- Ability to initiate, coordinate and evaluate quality improvement initiatives in education and clinical environments
- Advanced oral and written communication with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to negotiate, develop, and deliver various training solutions, including end-user support, classroom training, presentations, and online learning
