Your role
We are looking for a care and lifestyle assistant to join our team on a permanent part-time basis working Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's at our dementia specific facility in Mosman Park.
In this role you will:
- Facilitate lifestyle activities and therapeutic interventions tailored to clients needs and aligned with care plans, professional guidelines, and organisational guidelines.
- Assist in planning engaging activities and therapies to enhance clients physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Advocate for the clients and their representatives, upholding dignity, privacy, and freedoms in line with the Charter of Aged Care Rights.
- Promote enablement and independence in all activities.
- Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, nurses and carers to ensure holistic, comprehensive approach to care.
- Support clients with activities of daily living (ADL's) as required, providing therapeutic and practical assistance while fostering autonomy.
- Provide hands-on assistance with mobility, dining, toileting and other personal care needs.
We are seeking individuals with:
- A passion for improving the lives of older people through client-centred care.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment with a positive and reliable work ethic.
- Experience within aged care, community services or disability services, ideally in a care, therapy or activity role.
- Certificate III or IV in aged care, community services, allied health (or equivalent).
- Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- A commitment to a client focused culture that values continuous improvement and excellence in care.
- A current National Police Clearance (issued within the last 12 months).
