About the Role
The Director Operations is responsible for overseeing the efficient delivery and continuous improvement of portable long service leave schemes. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure compliance, financial sustainability, and outstanding customer service delivery.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a critical function within government, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure high-performance service delivery, risk management, and ongoing reform.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-today operational performance and leading outcomes to meet customer experience objectives.
- Driving continuous improvement and reform in portable long service schemes with employer and worker experience at the centre.
- Develop and manage stakeholder relationships across government and industry to ensure effective scheme operations.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and service excellence.
- Drive structural change and transformation initiatives, ensuring staff engagement and business alignment.
- Oversee the development and implementation of best-practice information systems to support business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative, financial, and operational requirements.
About You
You are a results-oriented leader with:
✔ Proven experience in senior operational leadership roles within government, finance, or regulatory environments.
✔ Strong expertise in financial governance, risk management, and compliance.
✔ A track record of driving business transformation and customer-focused service improvements.
✔ Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across sectors.
✔ A deep understanding of government processes, investment management, and regulatory frameworks.
✔ Ability to lead through change, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
✔ Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
