Zest Project Co is seeking a dedicated Support Work Team Leader to oversee our dynamic team of Support Workers, Short Term Accommodation and Supported Independent Living (SIL) home. If you’re passionate about providing high-quality care and leading with integrity, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management

• Guide, coach, and support the team to deliver excellent service in alignment with Zest Project Co’s mission and values.

• Conduct regular check-ins, team meetings, and performance reviews to foster a positive, collaborative culture.

• Act as the primary point of contact for escalations, resolving issues with empathy and professionalism.

Service Coordination and Scheduling

• Independently manage team rostering, ensuring support workers are appropriately matched to participants based on needs, skills, and experience.

• Develop and manage schedules, making adjustments as necessary, including last-minute shift changes.

• Ensure participants’ goals are consistently met by coordinating the right resources at the right time.

Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Risk Management

• Oversee compliance with NDIS standards and internal policies, ensuring all practices and documentation meet required guidelines.

• Manage incident reporting, risk management processes, and conduct audits of participant records, shift notes, and team compliance.

• Stay updated on industry best practices, implementing them to ensure the highest quality service delivery.

Professional Development and Training

• Identify training needs and coordinate development opportunities for support workers, promoting continuous improvement.

• Mentor new team members, providing hands-on training in both field and office settings.

• Lead by example in implementing best practices, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Client Satisfaction and Stakeholder Relations

• Proactively gather client feedback and address concerns to ensure satisfaction and identify service gaps.

• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and external providers, facilitating effective communication with support coordinators to ensure up-to-date funding and service agreements.

Operational Support and Autonomous Leadership

• Lead the team with minimal supervision, making independent decisions to manage performance and address challenges.

• Provide backup support when needed to meet participant needs, ensuring consistent service delivery.

• Ensure the team meets financial targets and explores opportunities to generate additional revenue.

Crisis Management

• Develop and implement strategies for crisis and risk management, ensuring continuity of care during emergencies.

About You:

We are looking for a compassionate leader with:

• Experience: Proven experience in leading support teams within the disability sector.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of NDIS standards

• Flexibility: Willingness to step in and provide direct support as required.

• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to train, mentor, and guide a diverse team.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to respond to challenges effectively and maintain a client-centered approach.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership or coordination role within the disability or community services sector.

• Experience working with individuals with varying support needs, including high-complexity cases.

• Diploma or higher in Disability, Community Services, or a related field. (highly regarded)

• NDIS Worker Clearance

• Working With Children Check

• First Aid and CPR Certificate

• Manual Handling Certificate

• Medication Training

• Drivers Licence

• Reliable Motor Vehicle

• Motor Vehicle Insurance

• NDIS Worker Orientation Module – ‘Quality, Safety and You’
