This Team Leader role is an exciting position for someone to be able to support the growth and work of passionate specialised Family Violence support practitioners. This role offers case direction, practical support, coaching and training including intervention to assist with Victim/survivors of Family Violence. The successful applicant will need to meet the minimum requirement of study or hold the equivalent to Bachelor of Social Work. The 209 recommendation is recommendation of the Royal Commission into family violence that any new practitioner providing direct specialist services to victim survivors for the delivery of family violence services will need to meet this requirement to be considered eligible for employment.
The Team Leader will be required to provide work functions containing components of supervision, operational policies and program budgets. Team Leader will be required to be knowledgeable in the areas on entering and managing SHIP data, activity codes via funding agreements and collation of expenditure for acquittals.

Position Purpose
Team Leader offers case direction, practical support, coaching, and training including the risk management and safety planning for residents. The purpose of The Willaneen is to provide short term crisis accommodation for women and children who are escaping Family Violence. This position is to provide an accommodation service which is accessible to women and children escaping family violence which offers equal support to women regardless of age, race, culture, sexual preference, class and ability which is supportive of the individual needs of women and her children.
This role is to ensure the safety and security of residents residing at the refuge.
The Team Leader is a Leadership role ensuring their team of staff provide direct services through a partnership with the Willaneen residents. Team Leader will lead the staff with planning and will support with referral needs for the residents to achieve their goals. Team Leader may be required to provide specialist expertise and work functions that could contain a component of Supervision, data entry to SHIP platform, along with knowledge of operational policies and program budgets. The Team Leader will also support residents directly in their role at Willaneen.
Key Selection Criteria
• A demonstrated interest and/or understanding of the Aboriginal community and local Aboriginal culture.
• Ability to communicate information in a clear, concise, respectful, and culturally appropriate manner.
• Ability to provide intensive case support to young people that promotes their best interest.
• Is positive, maintains enthusiasm and understands how own role contributes to achieving organisational vision and objectives.
• Demonstrated capacity to maintain sensitive information, always maintain confidentiality and remain impartial.
• Experience in Microsoft Office computer packages.
• Demonstrated experience engaging
Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable).
• Driver licence. ESSENTIAL
• Meets the mandatory minimum qualifications of a Family Violence Practitioner; OR willingness to undertake further studies to meet these requirements ESSENTIAL
• A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
• A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGAC requirements ESSENTIAL
