Description:
Group Tax is responsible for managing the tax risk in relation to Federal/State taxes so that NAB complies with all relevant tax laws and takes advantage of tax optimisation opportunities in line with NAB's Tax Risk Governance Policy. The position is within a team of tax specialists and will be involved in a wide range of tasks that achieve this aim.

In this Analyst role, you will
- Operating in accordance with NAB's Tax Risk settings and adhering to Group Tax processes and procedures.
- Execution of the annual Tax Compliance business plan including individually allocated strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of the Tax process improvement program, proactively identifying opportunities for reduction in complexity and cost.
- Assist the Head of Tax and other Group Tax team members by gathering information to respond to queries and information requests from revenue authorities and for addressing on-going administration requirements.
- Lead the preparation of NAB’s GST return and the payment of calculated liabilities.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in working with accounting and tax systems.
- High level understanding of tax legislative and regulatory requirements would be an advantage.
- Ability to analyse key processes to identify solutions and / or opportunities for improvement within the business environment.
- Proactive, self-starter with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Growth mindset, highly motivated, strong stakeholder management skills, ability to manage tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.
- High level understanding of tax legislative and regulatory requirements would be an advantage.
- Tertiary qualification in a business, finance or management discipline preferred.
