About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Commercial team at Aurora Dairies Management Pty Limited (Aurora Dairies Management) as a Mergers and Acquisitions Senior Analyst reporting to the Commercial Manager. This is a full-time role based in our Melbourne office. You will be responsible for evaluating, executing, and integrating acquisitions that align with the company’s growth strategy. The M&A Senior Analyst will lead financial modelling, investment analysis, and strategic decision-making for dairy-related acquisitions and divestments.

  • As the inaugural Mergers and Acquisitions Senior Analyst of Aurora Dairies Management and in utilising your skills garnered from other businesses you have been involved in, you will have the opportunity to develop your own processes, models, due diligence approach and all other Merger and Acquisition components from the ground up.
  • If you don’t have Agriculture or Dairy experience, it is not a big deal, we will teach you. However, if you consider yourself to have top level Mergers and Acquisitions experience, then we want to speak to you and learn from you.

What you'll be doing

End-to-end M&A project management and financial/strategic analysis of mergers and acquisitions in the dairy industry, including:

  • Lead advanced financial modelling and investment analysis for potential dairy property acquisitions and divestments.
  • Conduct due diligence on acquisition targets, including financial, operational, and market assessments.
  • Prepare detailed investment memorandums for presentation to the executive team and shareholders.
  • Provide leadership and support during negotiations and contract execution for dairy-related investments.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the board and executive team based on comprehensive financial assessments.
  • Ownership of investment and operational performance analysis for dairy operations, providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Take a key role in the development of analytical tools and investment models tailored to the dairy industry.
  • Conduct thorough market research, competitor analysis, and trend identification within the dairy sector.
  • Deliver high-quality analysis and insights, supported by comprehensive research, to identify emerging trends in the dairy sector and prepare detailed reports.
  • Lead the analysis of external and internal benchmarks specific to the dairy industry to guide strategy and performance.
  • Oversee and monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, ensuring alignment with investment objectives.
  • Liaise with shareholder representatives on all facets of the Mergers and Acquisition process.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in M&A, investment banking, corporate finance, or private equity.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CFA, CA, or CPA qualification preferred.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, & due diligence experience, analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple transactions.
  • Understanding of regulatory and tax considerations, ESG and sustainability considerations in investment decisions.
