Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to our Work Health and Safety Plan and coordinate implementation of tasks
- Identity, assess and manage hazards and risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate risks
- Conduct regular site inspections, undertake risk assessments and implement control measures
- Review and develop workplace induction processes, training, and ongoing development activities
- Maintain accurate records and notes of WHS activities, incidents, and compliance
- Contribute to the review of workplace job dictionaries to support the return to work of our injured workers
- Work in partnership with RTW Coordinators for all Work Cover injuries
- Manage Health and Safety Representative meetings, tasks and activities in collaboration with site leaders
- Maintain up to date knowledge and ensure compliance with all relevant WHS legislation and standards
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans. Conduct regular drills and training
- Create, develop and coordinate proactive workplace safety events
- Develop, implement and maintain WHS policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements
- Travel as required
- Participate in training and development programs
Our ideal candidate will have
- Certificate IV level qualification or equivalent experience in Work Health & Safety
- Extensive experience in a WHS role, preferably in a managerial capacity
- Strong knowledge of the Australian WHS legislation and related systems
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop effective control measures
- Proficiency in WHS management systems and incident investigation
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with people at all levels
