About the team
The Property and Place branch sits within the department’s Enabling and Business Services Group. We are responsible for strategic and operational focussed property functions to meet the needs of the department and enable our people to deliver the government’s agenda in a safe, diverse and inclusive environment. We are also the centre of how and where people work, as we embark on a place-based approach to staff needs and requirements. Fostering a sense of connection, no matter where staff are based, is key to this initiative.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of this place-based approach in delivering strategic oversight of our state office network.
The opportunity
Whether you’re an experienced APS professional or looking to start out in your APS career, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to be a leader in our state office network. Through helping to arrange and oversee our geographically dispersed state office network, you will play an important part in the future of how and where we work.

What you will do
As part of the State Office network leadership team, the successful candidate will lead a small team to:
- Coordinate and manage our State Office network to ensure effective communication and logistical flow of operations and embed a positive work culture.
- Lead projects across our State Office network to support consistency in our physical spaces, digital collaboration systems and tools, and workplace culture now and in the future. This will include preparing briefs and change management approaches.
- Support departmental initiatives and events to cultivate a diverse and welcoming environment.
- Provide support and subject matter expertise to the Manager of the State Office Network and Senior Executive, escalating issues in real time.
- Update financial reporting and budgeting of State Offices.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Notes
Although flexible work is supported by the Department, due to operational requirements this role is required to be full-time onsite. Please reach out to the contact officer to discuss this further.
