About the Firms

We're recruiting for two reputable accounting firms, each with a strong national presence and global connections. One works with household brands and iconic Australian enterprises, while the other offers a diverse service line-up including business services, tax advisory, audit, and more. Both firms are known for their commitment to excellence, people-first culture, and providing team members with opportunities to grow and thrive.

The Roles

We're seeking both an Assistant Manager and a Manager in Business Services & Tax. These roles differ slightly in seniority, but both involve managing client relationships, overseeing accounting and tax compliance work, and mentoring junior staff.

Assistant Manager - Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee client files from start to finish

  • Handle complex tax matters: PSI, CGT, FBT, Div7A, Trust Distributions, GST Recs

  • Review financial accounts and income tax returns across various entities (SMEs, Trusts, Partnerships, HNWIs etc.)

  • Provide mentorship to juniors and contribute to department strategy

Manager - Key Responsibilities

  • Manage team workflow and performance

  • Oversee preparation of financial reports and tax returns

  • Provide insights into financial and tax planning matters

  • Review work papers, budgets, cashflows, and client deliverables

  • Identify and implement efficiencies across jobs

  • Liaise directly with clients and Directors on complex issues

Requirements

  • Assistant Manager : Minimum 5 years' experience in business services and tax

  • Manager : Minimum 6 years' experience in business services and tax

  • CA/CPA qualified or actively pursuing

  • Proficient in XERO and MYOB

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Strategic mindset with leadership potential

Benefits

    • Assistant Manager: $100k-$120k

    • Manager: $130k-$150k
