The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Shared Service Payroll team processes payroll for over 30,000 employees across four major health services, ensuring compliance with 26 complex Enterprise Agreements. RMH is dedicated to advancing health for everyone, every day, and our Payroll team plays a critical role in delivering on this commitment.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Payroll Compliance Manager to join our Payroll Shared Services team. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee payroll governance and compliance, ensuring adherence to Enterprise Agreements, legislative requirements, and organizational policies. Your contributions will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of our payroll systems and ensuring exceptional service delivery across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of payroll compliance frameworks aligned with organizational goals.
- Ensure payroll processes, systems, and configurations meet regulatory and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance payroll processes and maintain data integrity.
- Conduct audits, monitor compliance metrics, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide expert guidance to Payroll Operations, leadership teams, and external stakeholders on compliance-related matters.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive positive change in payroll operations.
- Promote a high standard of customer service, ensuring payroll queries and issues are resolved efficiently.
About You
- Proven leadership experience in payroll compliance, governance, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of complex Enterprise Agreements, Australian payroll legislation, and tax regulations.
- Strong proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., SAP, RosterOn) and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Certifications in payroll management or compliance (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) are highly desirable.
