Design RV is the name in luxury caravans! Based in Pakenham, the team at Design RV collectively brings over 35 years of experience in manufacturing.
We are seeking candidates who are keen to join a booming industry with job stability and growth.
Roles
We have multiple roles available due to on-going expanding growth in a variety of areas:
- Cutting
- Side Walls Construction / Cladding
- Doors & Draws
- Van Build
- Electrical Fit off
- Internal Fit Off
- Re-work
- Detailers / Caulker
We are looking for skilled workers in these areas to join our successful business!
Qualifications & experience (General)
- Must have good hand eye co-ordination
- Must have hand tool experience
- Must take pride in your work
- Must be able to measure accurately and consistently (where required)
- Must be able to work in a team and individually
- Must have OH&S awareness
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with quality not being compromised
- Must have previous experience in the particular role you are applying for
- Qualification is desired but not essential
- Previous experience in the caravan industry is highly desired
- Must be punctual and reliable
Tasks & responsibilities
Tasks will vary depending on the role you apply for, some tasks are listed below but are not limited to;
Door & Draws
-Fitting cupboard Doors
-Installing draws
Cutting
- Work out cut requirements
- Cut all components as required on drop saw and panel saw whilst ensuring minimal waste
- Ensure work area is always clear
- Other cab shop tasks as required to assist
Side Walls Construction / Cladding
- Cut all required parts
- Assemble frames to specifications/drawings
- Glue and staple ply to wall and roof frames
- Router cut outs as required
- Cut and fit plastic trims as required
Van Build 1
- Fitting side walls to van
- Installing cabinetry and fittings in vans
- Loading furniture
- Mark up all furniture locations
- Fit, backscrew and staple all ground furniture
- Glue and apply splashbacks
- Fitment of rear wall
Van Build 2
- Installing front, rear and roof
- Fit roof and overhead furniture
- Fit front wall and required front and rear cover panels
- Screw and staple all fitted furniture
- Fit required blocking to walls and roof
Van Build 3
- Doing odd jobs in the vans
- Installing shower doors, metal bedframes, mirrors etc.
- Ensuring professional finishes
- Cut benchtops to size and install
- Fitting sinks
- General fit off and backscrew as required
Electrical Fit Off
- Fitting external lights and fixtures
- 12v wiring
- Sealing lights and speakers
Internal & External Fit Off
- Fitting internal items to caravans (eg. Upholstery, Bedheads, Towel Rails, Toilet Roll Holder, Tv Brackets, Sliding Door, Spare Wheels, Grab Handles, Vents, Wheel Spat, Reflectors, Tool Boxes, Trunk Doors, etc.)
- Be able to read and follow layouts and specification sheets
- Ensuring professional finishes and functionality
Re-work
- Various repair jobs on caravans
- Fixing issues as required to ensure quality standards
- Ensure all repair jobs are completed to a professional finish
Detailer and seal/caulker
- Various repair jobs on caravans
- Fixing issues as required to ensure quality standards
