Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking the expertise of a motivated and energetic permanent, full time Grounds/Events Assistant to join our Physical Resources team.
The Grounds/EventsAssistant role is responsible for:
  • Ensuring the Facilities and Grounds, including buildings, gardens, and outdoor areas, are consistently well-presented.
  • Performing general groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, and fertilizing.
  • Operating and conducting basic maintenance on equipment and machinery, including mowers, whipper snippers, and leaf blowers.
  • Regular maintenance of driveways, footpaths, garden beds, drains, and gutters, keeping them clear of debris, weeds, and rubbish.
  • Assisting with venue setup for school events, including moving and arranging furniture, equipment, and stage sets for our Music and Arts faculties.
  • Carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs to school buildings and facilities.
  • Pressure washing external walkways, building surfaces, and awnings as needed.
  • Preparing and maintaining school sports fields, the swimming pool, and the athletic track.
  • Undertaking any additional duties assigned by the Head of Physical Resources or Maintenance Supervisor.
About You:
You demonstrate:
  • A professional and friendly approach;
  • Some relevant industry experience or interest within the industry;
  • Landscaping knowledge or general maintenance/ trade experience would be advantageous but is not required
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks
  • Current Working with Children Check.
