Location: Sydney based

Hybrid Work arrangement: 3 days in the office to 2 days per week working from home, reporting to the ARL Manager.

Salary: $80,000 Base Salary plus superannuation

About APCO

The Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) is Australia’s co-regulator for packaging and a not-for-profit organisation driving the development of a circular economy for packaging. APCO is the entity in charge of managing and administering the Australian Packaging Covenant (the Covenant), which is a national regulatory framework under the National Environment Protection (Used Packaging Materials) Measure 2011 (NEPM). This framework defines the collective responsibility shared by governments and businesses across Australia in managing the environmental impact of packaging.

The Role

The ARL SME Marketplace Program coordinator will primarily manage the delivery of the SME (Small to Medium sized enterprise) ARL Program. The SME ARL Marketplace Program aims to engage with and support SME businesses to adopt the ARL on packaging via the ARL Marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build ARL Marketplace by recruiting packaging suppliers and distributors to list their sustainable packaging on the Marketplace
  • Establish and build usage of the ARL SME Marketplace to deliver revenue
  • Identifies opportunities to improve program efficiency and scalability, driving continuous improvements

  • Proven experience in responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining positive relationships
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail, ensuring accurate record-keeping and quality administrative outputs.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, be able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • A growth and learning orientation, demonstrating curiosity and a commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Skills in data & record management, excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong time management skills

You will be a great candidate of you have:

  • Experience in establishing and building revenue from an on line market based program from infancy
  • Familiarity with IT and financial systems to support the back end of the ARL Marketplace system is desirable
  • Strong connections and relationships with the packaging industry
