About this opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, customer-centric team player to join our team in Sydney on a Permanent, Full Time basis.

  • To ensure the smooth operation of the trade & traffic functions while maintaining and improving the company’s profitability targets.
  • Teamwork with various departments for Laden and space
  • Review and translate model ship to execution and booking acceptance
  • Understanding and Analysing data
  • Information Transparency along with timely communication
  • Minimise risk/cost exposure
  • Co-ordinate empty repositioning
  • Co-ordinate online and offline laden space
  • Assist in the coordination of slot management internally and externally.
  • Maximizing yield for route planning with Cost / Transit and Customer focus
  • Ensuring smooth routing of cargo flow
  • Manage shipment & network disruption
  • Liaison with various teams for coordination
  • Co-ordination of space management with intra / inter-company
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with customers and provide second-to-none customer service.

About you

Our ideal candidate will embody our shared values of innovation and creating value for customers, have exposure to the shipping industry as well as a passion and willingness to further develop their skill set under the guidance of the OOCL team.

  • At least 1 year experience in Trade/Traffic functions related to the Container Shipping Industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in International Business)
  • Confident learning new computer systems, advanced Excel skills, Microsoft-dynamics and internal procedures.
  • Be an excellent team player and be able to work effectively under pressure.
  • The successful candidate will also display excellent communication skills, the ability to converse with people of all levels and is well organized, efficient and effective.
  • Must have full working rights in Australia.
