The Role:

The Country Marketing Supervisor heads the Marketing function in a country/country. He/she plays a critical role to drive UPS’ sustainable and profitable revenue growth through provision of best-in-class logistic service to our customers, enhancement of customers’ digital experience and a well-articulated value proposition, which are facilitated by customer-oriented Go-to-Market plans. The Country Marketing Supervisor leads his/her team in core marketing disciplines including business strategy, product & segment Go-To-Market plans, customer experience management and digital communication. This position will also support the APAC region marketing team to execute pricing & revenue management plans and to contribute to business planning and analytics. He/She reports directly to the Marketing Director of Growth Markets and supervises a team of Specialists.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall Deliverables:

  • Drives sustainable and profitable growth of the business.
  • Drives a customer first mindset and works cross-functionally to improve efficiency and effectiveness of various customer processes.
  • Be the brand ambassador and represents the company to communication our service and product strength & value.

Business Strategy & Planning

  • Analyses Country current and potential revenue and profit, industry concentration and economic growth to inform prioritization of opportunities by key cities / geos and industry segments.
  • Defines the business opportunities by identifying the addressable markets from segmentation based on customer behaviors, industry segments, product, trade lanes, etc.
  • Analyses competitors’ operations, network, strategies, products, services, technologies to determine UPS competitive position and gaps by key cities / geos.
  • Analyses barriers of growth with tracking of Right-to-Win and identifies areas of improvement.
  • Executes the one-year business plan by identifying revenue growth initiatives and tracks ongoing performance to business plan.
  • Assists APAC Region business planning team by providing market insights, customer trend and competitor movements to support weekly forecast and actual performance analysis.
  • Participates in the strategic planning process and support the development of business cases.
  • Leads the preparation of company performance review in annual board meeting with Joint Venture partners. (ID/PH)

Product & Technology

  • Support Region Product team to identify opportunity for service enhancements, regularly challenge and feedback to current service quality with input from VOC (voice of customers), develops business case for investments to improve.
  • Provides input of customer demand to the development of new products & technology.
  • Leads the implementation of new/enhanced products and services roll-out to market with localized communication of the value proposition to customers.
  • Provides training to sales force to facilitate selling of new product and technology.

Go-To-Market

  • Implements the Go-To-Market plan developed by Region team or develops country specific go-to-market plans to align with country growth initiatives.
  • Runs post analysis of initiatives to understand the effectiveness of Go-to-Market Strategy and puts in place corrective actions where needed.
  • Identifies and executes program (e.g. sales promotion, CRM, digital activation, etc) in collaboration with Region team to support achievement of business plan goals.
  • Conducts sales leads generation to assist sales team to achieve customer conversion and cultivation.
  • Creates or implements commercial readiness materials (ex. training decks, segment engagement guides, value proposition pillars) to empower sales team to achieve initiatives objectives.

Customer Experience

  • Leads the improvement of customer experience in the country through the development and implementation of customer-first digital engagement, product development and Go-to-Market plan.
  • Leads the customer first committee in country to drive continuous Listen/Learn/Act action across 6 stages in customer journey.
  • Collects VOC through various channels e.g. existing research (e.g. rNPS, cNPS), feedback from field team, social media, GBS customer concerns etc.
  • Collaborates with country functions to develop, implement and track the action plan to improve customer experience and address issues from VOC.
  • Supports Region team to drive improvement of user experience on digital channel engagement e.g. UPS.com, local chatbots, etc.

Digital Communication

  • Analyses digital marketing metrics to assess campaign performance, ensure effectiveness and make data-driven decisions (ex. visits on ups.com, delivered rates, open rates, CTR, engagement metrics)
  • Monitors email marketing campaigns to better engage subscribers, nurture leads and drive business growth
  • Provides Region Team with country insights on digital marketing trends and technology, algorithms, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborates with Region Team to provide feedback on content calendar to create relevant and valuable material in order to improve visibility and reach

Pricing & Revenue Management

  • Collaborates with Region Revenue Enablement team to provide guidance to drive sustainable revenue growth, improves revenue quality and maximize profitability.
  • Assists country sales team on obtaining pricing decision from Region Revenue Enablement Team.
  • Supports and executes Region driven RM initiatives to accelerate profitable growth and thereby strengthen UPS’ overall market position.

People Management

  • Holds the team accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals.
  • Ensures that direct and indirect reports have documented career goals and detailed plans for achieving these goals to develop them personally and professionally.
  • Determines employees’ training needs to produce continuous career development plans.
  • Coaches others and provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree holder in Marketing or General Business, or related discipline; master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience at managerial level
  • Excellent articulation and organization skills with ability to work with people at different level
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills; able to work efficiently while meeting tight deadlines
  • Self-starter with solid project leadership experience
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Problem definition & structuring ability
  • Analytical thinker with excellent qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
  • Able to outline objectives and strategies
  • Understands customer business processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • In this role due to the nature of the operations, you may be required to work hours outside of this band
