Summary:
The Fleet Manager ensures the readiness, availability, and sustainment of the Small Uncrewed Aerial System (SUAS) fleet, enabling operational effectiveness for our customers. The position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, logistics, configuration management, compliance, and lifecycle sustainment of all fleet assets. This role ensures that SUAS platforms are maintained in a mission-ready state, minimising system downtime while optimising performance and longevity.
The Fleet Manager is integral to supply chain and inventory management, ensuring that spare parts, consumables, and critical components are stocked, tracked, and replenished to support ongoing missions.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring that the Small Uncrewed Aerial System (SUAS) fleet is maintained in a mission-ready state, meeting operational availability targets.Oversee all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.Generate, maintain and report, on maintenance schedules utilising proprietary “Maintenance Management Systems”Managing upgrades, modifications and software updates.Tracking fleet performance metrics and identifying improvement areas.Ensuring timely procurement of parts and minimising system downtime.Providing status reports and updates on support activities.Assisting in field operations, ensuring the fleet is supported during exercises and deployments.Act as the liaison between Quantum-Systems and customer’s support organisation.Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
Formal Qualifications in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical), Logistics, or Aviation Management.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fleet management, maintenance planning, or sustainment operations within the Defence, Aerospace or Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) industry. Australian Citizenship and ability to hold a Security Clearance. Proven experience in managing complex maintenance programs for unmanned or manned aerial platforms.Strong communication skills to effectively present technical updates and fleet status reports.Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving ability. Desirable Training in Defence Logistics and Supply Chain ManagementExperience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. SAP, MILIS, OOMA, ILS software).Understanding of the ASDEFCON suite of contracting documents.Familiarity with flight operations software, mission planning tools and remote piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) regulations.
