About The TeamInfrastructure Gold Coast is a team of specialists who plan, design, build, maintain and operate our physical infrastructure, creating a safe and accessible city that meets the needs of our community now and in the future. As Coordinator Engineering Surveying, you will be based in the Engineering, Design and Standards branch in the Engineering Field Services business unit. The business unit is responsible for delivering geotechnical investigations, testing of construction materials and surveying activities for all customer and community facing infrastructure classes.
About Your New Role
In this role you will lead the coordination of engineering survey projects, driving the process from client consultation to successful completion. You’ll manage project scopes, budgets, and timelines, working closely with clients to refine requirements and ensure seamless delivery. With a focus on innovation and problem-solving, you’ll oversee feasibility studies, resource allocation, and team performance, while ensuring compliance with legislation. From negotiating project variations to conducting staff appraisals, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities Include
Coordinate engineering survey projects, from client consultation to scope definition Oversee feasibility studies, cost/time estimations, and project milestones Ensure compliance with legislation and liaise with government departments Develop survey specifications and manage project resources Monitor staff performance, budgets, timelines, and project output Manage project variations, corrective actions, and ensure on-time delivery

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Surveying professional with strong leadership and technical skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant qualification, proven experience, and a commitment to ongoing development.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following qualifications and skills:
Relevant qualification in Surveying Registration with the Queensland Surveyors Board General Construction White card Commitment to professional development (CPD) Proficiency in survey software (12d, AutoCAD, Leica, GIS) Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership and conflict management experience, with a track record of effectively managing a team and complex projects driving successful outcomes – minimum of 10 years. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
