Description:
As the Manager, Operational Policy Response you are responsible for leading a small team of policy professionals to provide strategic policy advice on the impacts for CSQ arising from legislative and public policy reforms.
In this fast-paced environment, you will also oversee the provision of responses to complex and high-profile policy issues impacting courts and prepare government submissions to support the implementation of reforms in CSQ.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Operational Policy Response team, including driving performance and adjusting priorities.
- Oversee the provision of strategic policy advice on the impacts for CSQ arising from legislative and public policy reforms, including through the development of strategic partnerships within courts.
- Oversee the coordination and provision of responses to complex and high-profile policy issues impacting courts, including preparing departmental and ministerial briefs and correspondence.
- Oversee the preparation of complex government submissions to support the implementation of legislative and public policy reforms in CSQ, including the development of policy and funding options.
- Participate in interdepartmental and interagency meetings as required.
- Contribute to business planning and lead the delivery of actions that support the CSQ strategic direction.
- Undertake other duties as required.
Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability:
- Manages a team providing effective guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
- Detailed knowledge of public policy processes.
- Analyses draft legislation and policy to evaluate options, operational impacts and outcomes.
- Responds to emergent issues through establishing and maintaining appropriate networks.

- Writes and edits concise, accurate advice, submissions, and correspondence.
