Position Title: Electrical and Instrumentation Tradesperson
Wage: $100,000-$105,000 Gross Per Annum

The Role:
We are looking for a full time Electrical tradesperson with commercial/industrial electrical and instrumentation skills who’s looking to diversify their experience.
Key activities and role responsibilities include:
- Work enthusiastically in a team environment including supporting all colleagues to achieve manufacturing tasks to the desired quality of work within deadlines.
- Carry out electrical work as designated by the appropriate supervisor to produce quality work within deadlines. This includes wiring light duty switchboards, power and control cabling, instrumentation set up and commission, equipment wiring, cable systems installation and industrial maintenance of water treatment equipment.
- Provide technical input concerning the design, installation and maintenance with regards to WestWater projects and products.
- Read & follow electrical schematics to produce the desired project or task outcome.
- Assistance with quality control of WestWater products and projects including the red pen mark ups of ASCON drawings.
- Ability to be self-sufficient with jobs and supervise a small team of TAs or apprentices from time to time.
- Preparation and packing of equipment for site specific electrical tasks including building installation, conduit/cable running, civil assistance/direction, service/maintenance and existing services upgrades.
- Adherence to WestWater and customers specific Occupational Safety and Health, quality and environmental policies.
- Assist mechanical based colleagues where appropriate on project or production tasks both onsite and in house.
- Liaise with clients and contractors on site while maintaining professionalism and representing Westwater justly.
- Adhere to road rules and drive responsibly when driving Westwater owned or marked vehicles.
- Turning up fit for work, being well rested and free from drugs and alcohol
Selection Criteria:
Skills and Abilities
- General electrical/instrumentation ability with pride in the finished product
- Analytical and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to liaise with people and fit into a team.
- Ability to read and follow electrical and instrumentation diagrams and general arrangement drawings
- Flexibility to work within the mechanical or service fields as required by current workload.
- Keen eye for detail
- Minor dogging and rigging ability
Experience
- Water industry experience
- Manufacturing industry experience as opposed to simply maintenance
- Understanding of automated or PLC controlled systems
- Light duty power and control cubicle manufacture
Qualifications
- Completion of electrical trade with current QLD electrical licence
- Completion of Certificate IV Instrumentation
- Valid driver’s licence
- Forklift Licence
- White/Blue Card
Work Attendance Requirements:
Our workshop is based in Woodridge, QLD where we work 40hour week minimum, Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm. The role will involve away site work throughout QLD and NSW, at times for periods up to 3 weeks.
