The Role:

As the Team Leader Roads and Transport , reporting directly to the Manager Engineering; you will be a dynamic leader with extensive experience in civil engineering and road infrastructure. In this role you would deliver Road & Transport engineering services, ensuring council can respond to the changing environments and needs of the Clarence community.

Key Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Guide the Roads & Transport team to achieve council's strategic goals and deliver impactful infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee planning and delivery of road and transport strategies, ensuring they align with legislative requirements and community needs.
  • From road upgrades to new developments, you'll take charge of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, including state agencies and community members, to ensure projects meet the needs of the people.
  • Foster a supportive team environment, mentoring your team members and helping them grow in their careers.

Your Profile: With expertise in civil infrastructure, you would lead a high-performing team to deliver safe, efficient solutions. A strategic leader with a strong track record, you would drive innovation, customer service, and continuous improvement to enhance the city's transport network for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in road infrastructure management, traffic engineering, and transport-related projects.
  • A strong track record in leading teams, providing mentorship, and driving positive, high-performance cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from start to finish, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and quality.
  • Skilled at building strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure projects are successfully delivered and community needs are met.

Also required is a relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) and/or a minimum of approximately 7 years-experience in traffic, transport, roads, highways, asset management or delivery of infrastructure projects.
