We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Accountant to join our growing Finance team . This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving industry.
What will you do?
- Financial and Management Accounting: Ensures recording of accounting transactions, account reconciliations reporting, and managing controls on the same.
- Financial Reporting: Prepares and analyses financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with AASB standards.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Ensures the accurate recording of financial transactions, perform monthly account reconciliations, and maintains the general ledger.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborates with the Finance team to assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, providing valuable insights to support decision-making.
- Tax Compliance: Assists in the preparation of tax returns, coordinates with external tax advisors, and ensures compliance with local and federal tax regulations.
- Financial Analysis: Conducts in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, providing actionable recommendations to management.
- Internal Controls: Helps establish and maintain strong internal control processes to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Auditing: Supports external auditors during financial audits, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Financial Systems: Utilises financial software and tools effectively, streamlining processes and enhancing data accuracy.
- Other functions: Support the payroll activities, continuously identify opportunities for finance process improvements, and implement best practices.
How will you qualify?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CA Certification preferred.
- Minimum 3- 4 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the biopharma or healthcare industry.
- Solid financial regulations and standards knowledge, familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in financial software e.g. SYSPRO and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Financial modeling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to drive process improvement and implement financial best practices.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a finance team.
