We are currently seeking applications for a Principal Financial Accountant, Financial Integrity to join the Financial Integrity team at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of up to 18 months.
Remuneration: ASO7 – Salary Range $108,109 - $116,864 p.a. (11.5% Superannuation)

About the opportunity:
The Principal Financial Accountant, Financial Integrity is responsible for:
- The efficient and effective delivery of financial accounting functions that facilitate the reconciliation of payroll interface and/or bank account reconciliations associated with SSSA’s automated reconciliation solution, including system development, data analysis, process re-engineering, consolidation and standardisation of common finance functions and processes.
- Performing the CHRIS21 Financial Accounting SME function which involves liaising with SSSA’s Payroll Reform, Payroll Services and/or Business Systems teams to perform testing and provide financial accounting expertise in regard to CHRIS21 functionality.
About you
To be successful you will need:
- An appropriate degree in accounting, finance, or economics (majoring in accounting).
- An understanding of the CHRIS21 payroll system (or equivalent) from a financial accounting, reporting and data management perspective
- Demonstrated experience in the establishment and performance of reconciliations, especially payroll and bank reconciliations that involve the analysis of large volumes of complex financial data.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and apply policies and procedures to practical situations and provide accurate solutions.
- Ability to undertake financial analysis and present information clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, and to establish and maintain strong and productive working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision, deal with competing demands, meet strict deadlines and organise activities to provide efficient services.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
