We’re seeking a Senior Heritage Architect (PO3) to provide expert advice to owners seeking to conserve or adapt their heritage places. In this key role, you'll provide technical conservation and design advice, helping safeguard State Heritage Places and Areas while ensuring their sustainability for generations to come.
What’s Involved:
- Offering specialist advice for property owners, government, and councils.
- Guiding heritage conservation and adaptive reuse outcomes through Development Approvals including pre-application engagement, design reviews and negotiations of improved design solutions for heritage places.
- Building strong relationships with planning professionals, contractors, and community groups.
- Influencing heritage policy development , regulatory reform, and key heritage projects .

Contract:
2 Year Contract
Essential Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in Architecture, accredited or recognised by the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia, or a related discipline such as Planning or Archaeology (with demonstrated relevant skills and experience).
Special Conditions:
- Some overnight absences may be required for regional projects.
- A current class “C” driver’s licence is essential.
- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain a National Police Clearance (NPC).
Remuneration:
PO3, $101,285 min - $107,078 max p.a.
