Manager, Business Engagement and Innovation opportunity available for a MAS3 contract up to 2 years with South Australia Police.

South Australia Police (SAPOL) provides a diverse range of services to the community. These services are aimed at producing a safe and peaceful environment by the minimisation of crime and disorder. It is a large complex organisation which, because of the nature of its operations, is constantly subject to public scrutiny and accountability. It provides services to a range of different locations (over 100) spread across the State on a 24-hour a-day basis.

ROLE

Are you a multi-skilled manager that thrives on setting up new functions that influence the whole of the business engagement capability?

We are looking for an outstanding communicator and leader with proven experience developing business cases, to setup a new business partnering domain. You will be motivated by building relationships across the organisation that influences the technology pipeline of projects that provide real benefit to the organisation, now and into the future.

You will be in the box seat to establish best practices for business engagement across an organisation that is primed and ready, and you will actively engage with leaders across SAPOL to understand goals and opportunities to leverage technology.

You will have a broad set of skills including financial acumen and business know-how that will help SAPOL business functions come up with business cases, working in conjunction with the architecture team and solution design.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and build a team that is focused on improving the effectiveness of SAPOL’s operational policing through innovative technology.

SUCCESS

  • Extensive experience leading, motivating and managing a high performing team in the development, delivery and evaluation of critical business partnering and engagement functions and programs including setting and managing key performance indicators.
  • Extensive experience strategically planning and leading an organisations approach to innovation to drive continuous improvement in ICT technology solutions, systems and adoption including setting up and performance managing an innovation team in an IT Department.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting technology strategy, identifying customer needs, developing service strategies, and providing quality customer centric services in either a public or private sector environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively in a team, within broad policy guidelines, exercise significant levels of independent judgement and delegated authority to determine goals and priorities within the framework of the corporate objectives of SAPOL and ensure that the required standards of service and quality are met within tight timeframes.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in leading and managing teams including the performance and development of staff, determining priorities and strategies, setting goals, monitoring and reporting against plans and achieving agreed outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical ICT concepts and explain technology solutions in business terms to a wide range of audiences, and to developing documentation to a high standard.
  • Proven ability for strategic, analytical, and innovative thought and action, and the ability to think laterally when analysing and identifying business solutions, problem solving and responding to changing demands and situations.
  • Comprehensive and contemporary knowledge of the standards, tools methods and proccess involved in business engagement and organisational and ICT change management and detailed knowledge of relevant government policies and their application to SAPOL operations.

SALARY

MAS3 $127,859 per annum.
