Our client, a South Australian leader in the design, manufacture, and installation of premium glass and aluminium window systems, is seeking an experienced Commercial Sales Manager/Estimator to join their team. Position Overview:
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing tenders, maintaining client relationships, and providing detailed estimating services for high-end commercial glass and aluminium projects ranging from $50K to $4M.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit commercial tenders and quotations
- Negotiate commercial contracts and project specifications
- Interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes and standards
- Manage client relationships and develop new business opportunities
- Coordinate with project teams on site requirements
- Provide technical support throughout project lifecycle
Essential Requirements:
- 5+ years sales and estimating experience
- Proven experience in commercial glass and aluminium industry
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and building codes
- Understanding of commercial construction site processes
- Experience in tender preparation and contract negotiation
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to read architectural drawings and use MS Office efficiently
- Attention to detail with a team-oriented mindset
- Problem solving
Technical Knowledge:
- Commercial glazing systems and applications
- Aluminium window and door systems - facade/curtain wall
- Current industry standards and regulations
- Construction methodologies
- Site installation processes
Technical Qualifications:
Technical qualifications are not necessary if you have years of industry experience
- Certificate III/IV in Glass and Glazing
- Certificate in Construction Management
- Diploma in Building and Construction
- Australian Glass and Window Association (AGWA) certifications
Desirable Skills:
- AutoCAD and Revit experience
- Experience with Logikal estimating software
- Commercial estimating background
- Knowledge of current market rates and pricing
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Time management/multitasking skills
