About the role
We are looking for an experienced Mixed Livestock Farmer to work across farms undertaking the following:
Livestock
- Working with Management implementing the sheep and cattle strategies
- Best management practice and annual planning
- Animal husbandry and nutrition and timeliness of operations
- Updating livestock numbers and movements using farm tech apps
- Animal health including drenching, vaccinations, crutching, jetting, backlining
- Assisting implementation of EID tagging system. Best utilisation of handling and data recording
- Managing and working with farm team on fodder strategies for producing and sourcing appropriate fodder
- Planning, arranging, maintaining and repairs to fences
General farm operations
- General farm maintenance
- Contributing to the toolbox meetings and our safety-first culture
Skills and Experience
- Relevant Degree, or at least five years relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 1)
- Extensive experience with livestock
- Previous experience maintaining farm equipment
- Previous experience operating farm machinery
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and online systems/apps
- Forklift license desirable
