About the roleWe are seeking a strategic, visionary leader to drive the future of youth services across South Australia. The State Manager - Youth SA will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading The Salvation Army Youth Services, overseeing a broad spectrum of programs that support young people across the state. From housing and homelessness, driver training, and education to employment, AOD support, and youth justice initiatives, we provide the essential pathways for youth to explore opportunities, build networks, and thrive in their communities.
As State Manager , you will be at the forefront of strategic leadership and program management, ensuring the effective delivery of services and the ongoing development of our programs. You will manage contracts, uphold our Youth Services Model of Care, and ensure our services align with best practices, community needs, and organizational goals. Your ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, including state government departments, will be critical in advocating for the needs of youth and securing ongoing support for our programs.
Your leadership will also extend to cultivating an inclusive and high-performing team culture. You will mentor, support, and develop your team to build leadership capacity, manage performance, and ensure a safe, supportive environment for both staff and service users. Your expertise in strategic planning and team development will ensure we continue to attract and retain the best talent to support our mission.

This permanent, full-time position reports to the General Manager, Salary and conditions are aligned with the SCHADS Award, Level 8, and will be paid above the award level.
You will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field
- Minimum 10 years relevant sector experience, including management experience
- Experience of active membership in community or government bodies within the sector
- A national police record check is required
- An international police record check is required, where applicable
- Relevant state Working with Children Check is required
- Psychological Assessment required in line with Children and Young People Safety Act 2017
- Inter and Intra State Travel will be required on occasion
