The Assistant Manager, Capacity and Capability is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of human resource services, information and advice in accordance with relevant Commonwealth legislative and policy requirements. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Agency to promote organisational culture, implement change management processes, uplift capability and support employee wellbeing. Through an understanding of Agency priorities, the incumbent will provide insight and support to the Senior Executive team and leaders on complex employee relations matters, workforce planning, performance enhancement and innovative HR solutions within legislative and policy requirements.
The key duties of the position include
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the HR function to effectively partner and deliver customer focused HR support relating to recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and employee wellbeing.
  • Deliver HR partnering across the agency to ensure the achievement of ARWA's operational goals and strategic objectives.
  • Co-lead the delivery of strategic HR programs, initiatives, and strategies, including Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy and Culture Framework.
  • Build the HR team's capability by facilitating a collaborative and harmonious working environment and focusing on individual capability needs through providing performance feedback, facilitating career development opportunities, and mentoring team members.

Essential minimum requirements:
  • Extensive experience in human resource management including HR systems and reporting, as well as experience in provision of complex and sensitive HR advice and support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary HR and Recruitment practices and the legislative framework applicable to a Commonwealth government environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for coaching, developing and mentoring team members while fostering a positive team culture and environment.
  • Proven ability to develop, negotiate, interpret and apply enterprise agreements, conditions of employment and people related policies and guidelines.

Qualification/s:
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Law or Psychology, or equivalent relevant experience.
