The Opportunity:
The Y NT is seeking diploma qualified educators to work in our Early Learning and OSHC services in the Darwin/Palmerston region, casual and permanent part-time opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities:
- High Quality Practice – Coordinates environment where children are supported to flourish and thrive, has strong understanding of evidence-informed, pedagogy and practice that upholds all elements of the Early Years Learning and Framework, the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and the National Quality Standards.
- Positive Learning Environment – Is an active participant in supporting staff to facilitate meaningful and rich interactions. Uses respectful communication to guide and support children’s social, emotional and cognitive development. Builds and maintains respectful relationships with families and staff and ensures that all children feel safe and valued within a supportive classroom.
- Educational Delivery – Assist in the development of plans, delivers integrated teaching and learning strategies, guided by the individual learning and development needs of each child. Engages in regular reflective practice with all members of the team to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practices and their impact on children’s learning and development. Completes documentation in relation to children’s learning in line with organisational philosophy and evaluates the impact of teaching practices on children’s learning. Plays an active role in providing clear communication with families regarding their child’s development.
- Fostering Inclusiveness: Contributing in maintaining a clean, welcoming, and open environment for all members of staff and the community.
- Working Collaboratively: Supports a culture of collaboration within the centre and builds effective relationships with stakeholders and the community to maximise impact of the centre. Utilises effective communication skills to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with staff, families, and children, fostering a supportive and collaborative centre environment. Motivates staff and provides encouragement, promoting a positive learning culture. Has ability to model respectful relationships with children, staff and families.
- Compliance and Child Safety – Has a high-level understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Standards, Child Protection and Child Safe Standards, and Approved Frameworks. Works with their team to embedded these in centre practices.
- Flexibility and adaptability: Operates well in a flexible and changing environment and manages workload efficiently to meet the centre’s needs. Demonstrates initiative and seeks guidance and direction from senior colleagues when unsure.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop, engage, and collaborate to improve local relationships while identifying partnerships, programs, and events that may benefit the community and the Y.
Qualifications and Experience
- Early Childhood diploma qualification or above.
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012) and CPR.
- Experience is ECEC/OSHC is preferrable.

YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:
- Valid Working with Children Clearance.
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
