(Affirmative Measures - First Nations)Information for candidates: an affirmative measure allows a particular job in the Australian Public Service to be open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons. The filling of this vacancy is intended to constitute an affirmative measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975. It is open to First Nations candidates only.
To be eligible to apply for an Affirmative Measure - Indigenous position, you must provide confirmation that you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as part of the onboarding process by providing one of the following documents:
- a confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent form executed by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organisation
- a letter signed and executed by the chairperson of an incorporated Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander organisation confirming you are recognised as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
- a statutory declaration made by you or a member of an indigenous service provider confirming you are recognised as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, if no other documents are available.

AHL looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join AHL as an Operations Manager in Alice Springs. You will be reporting to the Business Director and Assistant Director; the Operations Manager will be critical to the organisation in overseeing the operations of a number of hostels in Alice Springs.

Under broad direction from the Director/Assistant Director, you will lead and manage hostel operations to ensure high-quality resident services, including:
- Safe, clean, comfortable, and culturally sensitive accommodation.
- Quality, nutritionally appropriate catering and meal services.
- Efficient, responsive, and friendly service delivery.
- Oversee hostels and staff within your cluster, ensuring compliance with policies, values, and strategic priorities.
- Manage complaints and incidents promptly, escalating when necessary.
- Lead a high-performing team by setting clear expectations and fostering a positive service culture.
- Build and maintain productive relationships that enhance service delivery and resident outcomes.
