About the Role:
As an Indigenous Liaison Officer, you’ll play a vital role in creating strong relationships between Job Pathways and external stakeholders. You’ll provide direct mentoring and support to job seekers, helping them navigate employment barriers while working closely with businesses, industry partners, and community leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strengthen connections with job seekers, elders, businesses, and community organisations to enhance engagement.
- Work alongside employment officers to provide culturally responsive support.
- Represent Job Pathways at relevant meetings, providing insights and feedback to management.
- Assist in organising consultations and feedback mechanisms to create a welcoming and supportive environment for job seekers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in community liaison, advocacy, or employment support (preferably in a not-for-profit setting).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to consult, negotiate, and mentor job seekers.
- Experience in building partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding of the social, economic, and environmental factors affecting remote communities (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and data entry.
What You’ll Need
- Current C Class Driver’s License (essential)
- National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain)
