At UGL, we are seeking interest from experience Workpack Engineers . This opportunity will see you join a reputable company with a highly experienced team who work together to develop and provide solutions for our customers. This position will be based in either Melbourne or Sale, VIC.

About the role

The role is a key coordination role between the planning and scheduling, engineering and execution teams on a large scale maintenance contract. The role will support the Planning and Scheduling team and Engineering team by managing potential work from commencement to ready for execution, including scoping, engineering, estimating, scheduling and coordination of work packs for the project. It will ensure activities within the role’s portfolio are effectively managed from both a cost and schedule perspective in the execution phase, and ensures all work pack activities are appropriately closed out. The role will rotate between the discrete areas of planning/scheduling, engineering and execution and be reflective of the needs to support the Project Engineering and Construction teams.

About You

You will inspire your team, draw on their diverse skills and create an environment where great ideas are heard, and everyone looks out for one another. Ideally you will have\:

  • 10 years trade background and or a Tertiary Engineering qualification with demonstrated experience in Mechanical and / or Structural disciplines or relevant industry experience
  • Developed skills in working with site-based engineering teams in developing project scope, planning and estimating and project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand project controls concepts including Earnt Value, S-Curves, Cost to Complete, Work Pack Management procedures
  • Demonstrated previous experience within the offshore oil & gas or petrochemical plant industry

Key responsibility areas

  • Ensure that project and maintenance planning incorporates HSE requirements for safe execution of work packs
  • Work closely with client engineers and stakeholders for the estimating and planning of project works for execution on the offshore facilities through work pack delivery to the execution teams
  • Work with UGL Leads and Supervisors to ensure project delivery outcomes are met, resources are managed, and spares and materials are available as required to populate the work packs
  • Implement and manage project work packs in line with the execution plan. oversee the monitoring, reporting and controlling of all work packs required for the project
  • Develop work pack budget estimations, monitor and control costs up to close out of work packs
  • Liaise with the project schedule with the UGL scheduler, providing regular schedule updates on work pack progress & completion for the purpose of reporting
