The Bengalla mine is located in the Hunter Valley of NSW and has been operational since 1999. It supplies international markets with approximately 15 Mtpa using a dragline and excavator/truck fleets. The mine has development consent to operate through to 2039.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an MEM practising certificate holder to take the next step in their career as we are currently seeking an experienced mining leader to join the Bengalla Production team on a permanent, full-time basis in the role of Statutory & Projects Superintendent.
As an integral member of the Production Team, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the safe and efficient execution of mining activities
- Coaching of Open Cut Examiners and Senior Supervisors on statutory matters
- Leading and facilitating interactions with the NSW Resources Regulator
- Investigating incidents within the Production team
- Developing and maintaining a sound Safety Management System
- Maintaining an up-to-date view on risk management through industry channels
What you’ll need
- Practising Certificate: Mining engineering manager of coal mines other than underground mines
- Detailed knowledge of mine planning and engineering processes
- Strong interpersonal skills
