We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Facilities Integrity Engineer to join the Networks team in Kidman Park SA or Thomastown VIC, on a fixed term contract to March 2027.
Reporting to the Manager Integrity, Networks, as a Senior Engineer, you would be required to apply advanced knowledge, skills and methods to solves complex integrity problems and deliver high-quality specialist solutions to various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity, safety, reliability and compliance of all facility assets (gate stations, regulator stations and meter sets) operated and maintained by APA Networks.
- Be proactive in identifying risks to be addressed and managed, and developing proposals to prevent and mitigate those risks, actively driving either their resolution or escalation.
- Deliver various compliance and risk reduction actions associated with facility integrity on time through strong collaboration with stakeholders.
- Support and facilitate asset integrity projects through capex planning forecasts, risk assessments, optioneering studies, failure analysis and scope of work delivery.
- Communicate effectively and collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders and support various business improvement and risk reduction initiatives
Your background
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline or strong equivalent relevant work experience (mechanical engineer preferred) and AICIP or API certification would be beneficial
- Knowledge of facilities construction and operating practices for vessels, pressure reducing valves, water bath heaters and piping
- Able to perform defect assessments for static equipment and recommend appropriate repairs
- Innovative and can generate original and novel ideas, and to adapt and improve existing engineering solutions to changing needs and contexts
- Act with integrity, honesty, and responsibility and uphold the values and principles of the engineering profession including adhering to relevant standards, codes, and regulations
- Understand the interpretation and application of industry Codes of Practice, Standards, Acts and relevant legislation eg AS2885.3 and AS4645

Networks manages and operates local distribution networks and transmission pipelines that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.
This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects, including 2032 Olympics. Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
