About the Role
As a Data Engineer, you will lead and manage data architecture solutions, data pipelines, and data governance, ensuring QLeave's data is accurate, secure, and accessible.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Data & Analytics, your role will involve:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining a Data Lakehouse aligned with data management best practices, governance protocols, and security controls.
- Designing and managing data architecture to ensure scalability, efficiency, and alignment with business needs.
- Developing and optimising data pipelines to efficiently move and transform data from multiple sources into QLeave's data Lakehouse.
- Ensuring data quality, governance, and security by implementing best practices and security controls.
- Supporting analytics and reporting by creating and maintaining data models for Power BI, Azure SQL, On-Premises SQL, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting data issues using diagnostic tools, working collaboratively to resolve performance and quality concerns.
- Documenting data processes and architecture to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to governance standards.
- Engaging with stakeholders across the organisation to understand data needs and provide insights that support informed decision-making.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a highly skilled and analytical Data Engineer with:
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing a Data Lakehouse
- Experience in data engineering, including Azure Data Factory, T-SQL, Python, and data modelling.
- Strong technical expertise in data governance, security controls, and performance optimisation.
- A structured and methodical approach to engineering data from diverse datasets.
- The ability to develop and maintain scalable, automated data pipelines.
- Experience with data accuracy, consistency, and security within complex environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, experience in data engineering and relevant analytics tools will be highly regarded.
