About the opportunity

Recruitment, Engagement & Marketing, which is part of the Division of Student Services and Operations, plays a critical role in the implementation of the University’s student recruitment strategy. The University is committed to further increasing the number of Tasmanian and interstate students choosing to study with us. To achieve this the Future Students (Domestic) Manager, supports the management of a diverse team, based in Tasmania and interstate to achieve student recruitment targets and demonstrates high standards of leadership and self-motivation in the successful pursuit of the University’s mission.

The Future Students Manager (Domestic) works with high levels of autonomy and is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies to increase higher education participation, mobilizing a team within Tasmania and interstate. Through developing strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, the manager will enhance collaboration and support recruitment initiatives, contributing to the University's mission to make a difference for Tasmania and beyond.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement targeted and agile domestic recruitment strategies, including leading the practical delivery of the Schools Recommendation Program, to grow participation in higher education from both our school leaver audience and adult learners.
  • Lead and manage the team to develop and operationalise annual strategic plans that will build enrolments from agreed market segments.
  • Develop good working relationships across the University, enabling cross-team collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain strong external relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, community organisations, and industry partners, to support recruitment initiatives, and promote the University's offerings
  • Undertake analysis to identify opportunities to develop, instigate, and support business development initiatives.
  • Demonstrate leadership to the team, encouraging a collaborative and purpose-driven culture and supporting others to achieve mutually agreed goals.
  • Prepare and communicate regular performance reporting and market insights to Senior Management.
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably directed.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience leading sales or recruitment teams in an education setting
  • Knowledge of the higher education or secondary education system in Australia
  • Well-developed presentation skills, able to present to a wide range of audiences
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with, and the ability to use data effectively

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 9 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $155,332 comprising base salary within the range of $125,959 to $132,762 plus 17% superannuation.
