About the Role
Responsibilities for the Head of Department Senior Pathways include, but not limited to
- Continue to refine and develop whole school processes for QCE/QCIA tracking and senior pathways
- Create and maintain partnerships with teachers, parents, students and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes
- Develop and maintain systems to track VET achievement and liaise with external RTO's to promote and manage VET courses including meeting QCAA systems and processes requirements
- Collaborate with support staff and agencies to improve student engagement in senior school
- Manage and coordinate school based programs for Year 10, 11 and 12 students to meet departmental requirements eg Respectful Relationships
Some of the challenges of this role are ensuring students are engaged in their learning pathway including providing alternate pathways for students who are disengaging, ensuring student meet their QCE/QCIA requirements for completing of year 12.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have experience in leading others. They would be able to work with others in a team. They would be well organised and have good relational qualities to work in a rural town. They would be able to develop strong partnerships with community employers and have a strong senior schooling knowledge.
The positives of the role are that Mareeba has a strong community and good facilities. The role will allow the successful candidate to work in the student services support team to develop positive school processes that will assist in continued development of a positive culture. There is a culture of supporting extra-curricular activities in a community with strong sporting, cultural, First Nation and wider community links.
