What does the job look like?
Join our Retail team as an AM Transport Allocator in Dandenong South, VIC, on a permanent full-time basis. You’ll play a critical role in overseeing transport operations for one of Australia’s largest supermarket chains. This hands-on role involves allocating, route planning, and dispatching metropolitan deliveries to ensure seamless shift operations.
The role operates on a 4-on, 4-off rotating roster with 12-hour shifts from 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This is a fast-paced position requiring strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to keep operations running smoothly. - Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders, providing clear instructions while fostering positive relationships.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to run sheets, delivery schedules, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure regular communication with customers, keeping them well-informed about their scheduled deliveries or any changes that may impact them.
- Commit to Safety Standards and COR requirements at all times, including daily compliance tasks such as yard inspections, speed and fatigue audits, and load restraint checks.
Are you the one?
We're looking for motivated individuals interested in transport operations, including scheduling and allocation. Full training and support will be provided to the right candidate. You can demonstrate:
- Experience in transport load planning, driver or fleet allocation is highly regarded, but not essential – a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills – experience with TMS is highly regarded
- Strong geographical knowledge of Melbourne metro
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, remaining organised and efficient.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
