The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Headquarters Coordination team in the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA).This team is responsible for coordination of Defence Aviation Safety Program (DASP) activities, including:
- Support for various aviation safety committees involving senior Defence personnel, fellow regulators and industry partners;
- Stakeholder engagement planning and relationship monitoring; strategic communications and public affairs (including participation at major events such as the Australian International Air Show); and
- Managing the Authority's registry function.
The role itself spans several facets of the Coordination team, requiring the performance of operational and administrative procedures, oversight of the Authority's registry function, and assisting with the coordination of events, to support business activities within an integrated workforce. The role allows the successful candidate to work with a reasonable level of autonomy to achieve work outcomes and also offers opportunities for on-going mentoring and development.
About our Team
DASA is responsible to enhance and promote the safety of military aviation through the implementation of a DASP that supports compliance with statutory safety obligations and assures the effective management of aviation safety risks. DASA is a complex organisation consisting of a Headquarters element, and six directorates.
The organisation has a strength of around 280 personnel, made up of Australian Defence Force members and Australian Public Servants, and is physically located in Melbourne VIC, Canberra ACT, and Amberley QLD. The successful candidate will work within a small, highly motivated and professional administrative and technical team located within the DASA Headquarters. The team reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff, includes Military and APS personnel and works closely with the other DASA Directorates.
