The CompanyOur client is a market leading wholesale distribution distribution company based in the Canterbury area. Due to consistent growth & an internal restructure, they are looking for a commercially minded HR Manager to oversee the Australian business (350 staff). The company has an established footprint with a strong brand name across the industry.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director you will be required to partner the Australian operation which. They are looking for someone who can juggle multiple projects within HR, while focusing on operational & commercial HR matters. Key responsibilities include:
- Drive the development & growth of the HR function
- Influence and build relationships with leaders and people managers
- Provide coaching and support to the management team to drive high performance
- Oversee the WHS & IR/ER functions
- Change management
- Reporting, budgeting and commercial decision making
- Performance management
- Succession and retention planning
- Talent acquisition
- Lead employee relations matters, policy adherence, grievances, and union matters
- Managing a team of 3
- The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in a HR Managerial position within the Australian workplace.
- You will have a proven background in a distribution, manufacturing, logistics, inventory environment.
- You will have a degree / diploma in HR or related discipline - preferable
- Excellent knowledge of the Fairwork Act, Australian Workplace Law and relevant Awards
- Capability to plan effectively, prioritise and to deliver in a timely and efficient manner
- Proven experience in developing and implementing effective WHS policies
- Outstanding communication skills, and the ability to work with people on all levels in the business
- Ability to multitask in a highly pressurized environment
