Investment Banking Analyst - Generalist M&A - Australian Investment Bank

My client is a high-performing boutique Investment Bank with a great reputation and a high-profile client list. Due to growth, the team is looking to hire an experienced M&A analyst to help them execute a strong pipeline of deals.
As an Investment Banking Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the investment banking team in executing various financial transactions. You will work closely with senior professionals and gain exposure to various aspects of the investment banking process, including financial analysis, due diligence, deal structuring, valuation, and client interaction. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to develop their skills and contribute to the firm's success.

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support the evaluation and execution of investment banking transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments.
• Assist in conducting due diligence activities, including industry research, competitive analysis, and financial statement analysis, to support deal evaluation and strategic decision-making.
• Prepare pitch books, presentations, and other marketing materials for client meetings and investor presentations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate and manage the execution of transactions, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on companies, industries, and market trends to identify potential investment opportunities and provide insights to clients.
• Assist in preparing transaction-related documentation, such as offering memorandums, prospectuses, and information memorandums.
• Support senior team members in client management activities, including attending client meetings, responding to client requests, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and market trends to provide informed recommendations and insights to clients and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
• Prior experience in investment banking, corporate finance, transaction services, valuations, modelling or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Exceptional organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with colleagues at all levels.
• Demonstrated passion for the financial markets and a strong desire to build a career in investment banking.
• Australian PR or Citizenship;
