- You will work with an astute local management team who have years of experience working in the local NSW marketplace
- This position will suit an experienced Design Manager with a history working in the mid-tier market with builders who can manage both the front-end design and delivery phases.
- You will be a key player in bridging the tender/EOI phase with project delivery while collaborating closely with Project Managers to ensure projects get off the ground smoothly.
- Reporting to the Sydney GM and the Head of Design based out of QLD you form a team of 3 locally that will oversee the design management for the Sydney operations.
- You will work closely with the site teams to plan and resolve design issues across private schools, hospitality and commercial projects valued from $10M - $40M
Salary will be in line with experience but figures between 160K – 180K can be expected
Responsibilities:
- Lead design meetings with internal stakeholders
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and resolving buildability issues
- Coordinate with team members to resolve design-related challenges
- Produce reports for senior management
- Assist project management teams in securing necessary approvals to begin construction
- Degree in Construction Management or a related field
- Proven experience across educational, hospitality or commercial projects in Sydney
- Strong understanding of buildability and budget management within tier one or two markets
- Experience navigating approvals processes with relevant authorities locally in NSW
