In addition, nominated causes can also benefit from a donation in kind of expertise, time, and resources. In the past year TEAM LEWIS has donated almost $2million to 445 causes around the world.

Purpose of the role

TEAM LEWIS is looking for an ambitious professional to drive the establishment, development and evolution of its Media Buying practice in Australia. The role will be responsible for promoting and selling Media Buying Services to existing and new clients and sectors in Australia. The person in the role will act as the face of the offering in the market, leading on the marketing and selling of this new practice.

The role will focus on building out a media planning, buying, and optimisation service for TEAM LEWIS in Australia. The focus will be on delivering fluent, fast-moving, and high-impact media strategies to new business prospects and existing clients to secure additional revenue and expand the agency’s reach. This role is about anticipating trends before they happen, ensuring clients’ own moments instead of reacting to them, and embracing AI-powered media intelligence to unlock unprecedented strategic advantage.

As the founding employee of the offering in Australia, the role will require an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to take the lead on establishing and growing the practice area locally, with close support for the Australia senior leadership team and relevant colleagues across the APAC region.

Key responsibilities and tasks

Commercial Business Development

  • Develop and deliver a TEAM LEWIS media proposition that will differentiate the agency and drive revenue growth
  • Lead the new business process for media buying services, setting the strategy for targeting prospects and securing opportunities
  • Build and nurture relationships with senior prospect decision makers, key intermediaries and influencers to deliver new clients and revenue
  • Work with Marketing on lead generation campaigns; review effectiveness and fine-tune accordingly
  • Write/compile compelling credentials, responding to RFI and RFP requests, with the aim of securing pitch opportunities; play a crucial role in promoting TEAM LEWIS’ credentials throughout the tender process
  • Proactively source new business leads outside of inbound enquiries and existing client growth
  • Provide strategic counsel to APAC senior peers to help win and grow media buying business

Agile Media Strategy & Planning

  • Develop real-time, insight-driven media strategies that capitalize on cultural and technological shifts
  • Leverage AI, data intelligence and predictive analytics to build high-impact media plans
  • Drive full-funnel media solutions that integrate brand awareness and performance marketing
  • Champion Follow-The-Sun (FTS) creative and media processes, ensuring campaigns operate on a global, “always-on” basis

Client Leadership & Business Impact

  • Act as a trusted advisor to high-profile clients, ensuring media strategy and planning is directly tied to business performance
  • Lead notable pitches and client growth strategies, shaping how brands invest in media for maximum ROI
  • Translate complex media trends into actionable insights, making bold recommendations that drive competitive advantage

Operational & Performance Excellence

  • Redefine how media impact is measured, moving beyond outdated metrics to engagement, share of voice and brand fluency
  • Oversee cross-platform media investment, ensuring optimal allocation between linear, digital and emerging channels
  • Implement AI-driven media optimization, ensuring campaigns react and adapt in real-time to changing audience behaviours

Industry Influence & Thought Leadership

  • Position the agency as an industry leader in the media buying space by contributing to thought leadership, events, and media commentary
  • Stay ahead of shifting industry trends, consumer behaviours and platform evolutions, ensuring that the agency remains a step ahead of competitors
  • Advocate for radical new approaches to planning and performance measurement, driving media fluency across the organization

Team Leadership & Innovation Culture

  • Develop, mentor, and inspire team members to take on the new skills required to support with campaign execution
  • As the function grows, build out a high-performing team of planners, analysts, and strategists to embrace a new era of media thinking
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with creative, data and technology teams to drive integrated, media-first campaign solutions
  • Foster a culture of bold, intelligent decision-making, ensuring innovation thrives within the team
  • Lead and participate in agency training, as a trainer and by contributing curriculum ideas
  • Be a collaborative, encouraging, supportive member of the Australia team

General

  • Actively contribute or lead on Australia office initiatives across TEAM LEWIS culture, marketing programs and HR initiatives
  • Take a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its identity, values and work
  • Support the HR / talent team by promoting both internal and external opportunities at TEAM LEWIS across social media and via the referral scheme
  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of competitors activities
  • Overall, be a guardian of best marketing practice

About you

  • At least 10 years of digital media buying experience in an agency environment, with deep expertise in digital marketing channels, paid media strategy, planning, and performance marketing.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale media budgets and driving measurable performance improvements.
  • Strong working knowledge of social media platforms and their impact on campaign success.
  • A leader with vision and agility; able to quickly grow and profitably run a business unit, astutely managing the commercials and delivering a top-drawer service to retain and grow clients
  • Proven success in differentiating and growing a proposition in market; adept at working in an environment that does not yet have full infrastructure in place
  • Skilled in driving high-impact media strategies that merge creativity, technology and data
  • Expertise in B2B and B2C media strategy and planning; experience in tech, healthcare, public sector is a plus
  • Deep understanding of AI-powered media intelligence, audience behaviour, performance analytics
  • Mastery of omnichannel media planning, with fluency in:
  • Offline media: local TV, print, radio, OOH
  • Digital media: display, social, programmatic, OTT/CTV
