DescriptionWe currently have an opportunity for a Food Safety & Compliance Specialist. Join our Health and Education team and play a key role in ensuring compliance with HACCP and Food Safety Plans, providing staff training, supporting audits, and fostering a strong food safety culture in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Reporting to Patient Food Services Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
- Ensure adherence to HACCP and Food Safety Plans, conduct inspections, and maintain records to meet legislative and company standards.
- provide food safety training for new and existing staff, including inductions, toolbox sessions, and ongoing professional development.
- Perform internal audits, support external audits, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in food safety and service quality.
- Promote a strong safety culture, enforce compliance with health and safety policies, and report incidents or hazards proactively.
- Work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to maintain high standards in food safety and patient care.
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant certifications in food safety and HACCP, with prior experience in a healthcare or HACCP-accredited kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, compliance procedures, and the ability to conduct internal audits and inspections.
- Ability to train, mentor, and guide staff in food safety practices, ensuring compliance and fostering a strong safety culture.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.
