The Role
We are seeking applications for a Paralegal or Senior Paralegal with personal injury experience to join our dynamic Perth CBD office on a permanent basis. Working with an experienced and dedicated team, this is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to make a difference and advance their career in personal injury.
Please note that although this role is a full-time opportunity, we are open to discussions around either a part-time or flexible work arrangement, in the equivalent of as minimum of 4 days per week, for an experienced candidate.
- Assist solicitors with the day-to-day operations of files/client management.
- Be the first point of contact for clients and answer clients’ enquiries.
- Working with a mixed file load across various personal injury matter types including public liability, motor vehicle accident matters and workers compensation.
- Administrative tasks like filing and archiving, as required.
- Prepare matters for conference and hearing including preparation of court documents, legal documents and general correspondence.
- Draft legal documents such as statements of claim and particulars of damages.
- Brief and liaise with Counsel.
- Correspond, brief and liaise with medical practitioners and other experts.
- Manage complex databases of information.
- Devise systems to support information retention and accessibility.
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in personal injuries is desirable.
- Experience drafting District Court documents is desirable.
- Client service oriented, strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Proactive, self-starter and displays initiative, with the ability to work autonomously as well as follow processes and direction from supervisors.
- Strong MS Office skills and the ability to learn new systems and platforms.
