Take them on the journey from $15m to $50m in the next 5 years (that's the plan), and 25 staff up to 100. Enjoy a down to earth industrial setting, casual, social, and highly flexible - generally only 6-8 in the office on any given day, and most WFH 2-3 times per week, so long as you are delivering.
Your New Role
Reporting directly to the MD, and replacing a retiring financial controller (with handover), the books are in good order (Xero), the information flows as it should from Salesforce, and you even get the benefit of outsourced bookkeeping by a mid-tier accounting firm here in Perth. As the only qualified accountant in the company, you will be required to handle it all - AP, AR, Payroll, Legal, Insurance, Property, General Administration, Monthly Reporting, Tax Matters, and strategic/commercial items too - budgeting, forecasting, pricing, tenders, contract administration support, business partnering, and anything else 'back office'.
As the company expands, your role will expand as well, you'll likely hire additional team members and ultimately become CFO when the business warrants one. For now an FC is all that is required based on size.
Your Profile
This is a sensational opportunity for a mid level manager to lead the finance/accounting function of a growing SME. You are the trifecta of a financial controller - able to handle compliance, provide commercial support, and have an engaging personality to get on with all the non-financial managers and fit in socially in very young fun environment. Ideally you'll have gained experience through public accounting firms - tax, business services, perhaps audit, and have some corporate experience in SME's. If you have experience in Xero that would be helpful but not essential. You specifically prefer SME's where you are involved in a wide variety of the business, well beyond accounting, where you can make a real impact. Any experience with rapidly growing companies, particularly with international exposure would be well regarded.
