Your opportunity
As a Secondary Systems Test Specialist based at Mackay , you’ll undertake technical work of testing, maintenance, and commissioning on complex electrical devices such as protection relays, control and communication devices and metering equipment.
You will also complete these tasks on High Voltage primary plant equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, HV cables and earth grids. You will work as part of a small test team and coordinate activities with other divisions in Ergon, working across Mackay and the surrounding region.
The remuneration for your new role is from $134,721 per annum + 14.75% superannuation + applicable allowances.

What you’ll bring
- A Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certification as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proven experience in secondary systems and primary plant testing.
- HV Switching qualifications and experience.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers.
- Current 'C' Class Drivers Licence.
- Prepared to travel in and around the region to undertake work.
- Required to participate in an on-call roster and available for call out emergencies.
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or an Australian permanent residency
We’d also love you to have:
- Possess relevant AQF6 qualification (Associate Degree / Advanced Diploma) or the equivalent qualification or meet all pre-requisites to obtain tertiary qualifications.
- At least three years’ experience in a similar role.
