Nurse Consultant Opportunity - Marion Psychosis, SALHN
As a Nurse Consultant within our esteemed Marion Psychosis team, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional mental health care to individuals facing complex challenges. Utilizing your expertise in recognizing and responding to clinical deterioration, you will provide evidence-based care while supporting patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Your commitment to professional growth and upholding quality standards will be instrumental in shaping positive patient outcomes.
About the role:
Reporting to the Team Manager and the Nursing Director, Specialist Community Mental Health Services, Marion, the Nurse Consultant is integral in the provision of mental health care and involved in providing evidenced based care and developing clinical skills while keeping up to date with professional standards of practice and quality management initiatives consistent.
There are various practice models that may be used to enact this role, including but not limited to:
- Participating in the coordination of consumer care delivery
- Primarily providing nursing care to complex patients;
- Coordination and leadership of projects and/or programs that contribute clinical expertise to improve consumer/service outcomes.
About you:
- Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate.
- Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
- Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Registered Nurse with at least 3 years, full-time equivalent, post registration experience.
- Demonstrated competence in Mental Health Nursing practice.
- Experience with working with consumers who are on the Clozapine Program.
- Demonstrated experience in working with mental health consumers and carers.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
