You will be responsible for supervising and leading staff in the Core Laboratory Central Specimen Reception work unit to achieve both organisational and personal objectives.
What you'll do
- Operationally manage pre-analytical processes within the Laboratory.
- Deliver training to staff, and actively support staff to achieve their professional and organisational goals.
- Propose initiatives to improve client service within the CSR unit and across the broader organisation.
- Actively participate in the implementation of Core Laboratory and other organisational service improvement projects.
- Perform quality duties relating to the role including document control, staff training and record keeping, Performance Appraisal and Development reviews, and appropriate use of internal quality control systems.
About you
- Experience in pre-analytical processes, e.g. sorting, coding, data entry, aliquoting, parcel management, storage, retrieval of specimens etc, in a large and complex core laboratory unit.
- High level leadership skills and a demonstrated willingness to succeed.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively in a highly process driven environment with competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Sound understanding of laboratory quality systems and the requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification.
- CSR delivers a 24-hour, 7-day service. In this workplace, all newly appointed Core Laboratory staff are contracted to work any rostered shift within the 24-hour 7-day roster period, including overtime as required.
- Work one of three shifts between 0600 and 2200 but may be expected to participate in continuous shift rosters depending on the needs of the department.
